| Home > Citizenship Troubles > Testimonials > KLT War Bride Daughter I do remember sometime in the 70's my mother had to apply for Canadian citizenship and as she would have said she was "most vexed" and that is putting it mildly. She actually returned to Workington in 1953 and my brother was born there. I believe he carried the status of "Canadian Born Abroad", I think at age 21 he had the option of choosing British or Canadian citizenship.
