When I applied for a passport in 1969, I was informed that I was NOT a
Canadian citizen!! My husband and I had divorced in 1965 and I had
remarried. My 2nd husband was Canadian born, so you can imagine my horror
to discover that I was indeed not a Canadian!!

.... I was given to understand that my son, who was 9 months old
when we came over in 1944, was indeed a Canadian citizen, by virtue of his
father being Canadian!! He has never applied for a passport, so who knows
the answer?? If we were to enquire, we would probably get the same answer
as Eswyn Lyster!! The bureaucracy surrounding this is indeed ridiculous!!
However, I'm now happy to be Canadian, although part of me is still very
loyal to Jolly Old England!!!
